Was in the office this morning about 8:30 when I saw a deer head moving around behind the bump log at the edge of the bank on the other side of the road.

Went out to my truck to get my camera, turned back around toward the bank and saw there were three of them standing at the side of the road not fifty feet away-

WHOA !!!!!!!

Wasn't expecting THAT so early in the morning !!

Alone again "naturally".

Won $170.00 on the Powerball drawing last night !!! That'll be a nice little addition to the Carolina Beach vacation jar !! Things should be pretty much back to normal at work by the end of August and I think I will definitely need a break.

All things considered, it's turned out to be a pretty nice week!!!!

       Jack got his test results back and altho it's not real good, it's probably best case scenario at this point. The cancer is in his right lower jaw and lymph nodes, but has not spread to his lungs, brain or anywhere else. He has two surgeries scheduled for April 22nd,the first to remove the right jawbone and lymph nodes and the second to do the bone grafts. The doctor said they will "unclip" the tibia (small bone) in whichever leg is best suited to be the donor, and remove it completely,"because you don't really need it". They will use that to, hopefuly, rebuild his jaw line.

       Then, he should be in intensive care for two days, in hospital another ten days, then be sent home with a cast on the donor leg for another two weeks. With no broken bone to mend they should be able to remove the cast at that time. He should be able to get around with a walker then, and just a cane within a short time after that.

        The doctors at UK Med Center have told him that the chances for a full recovery are very high at 98 to 99%!! He's going to have a rough go of it for a month or so, but with any luck, back doing what he loves doing by mid June, if only in a limited role for a while.

        Once again, I thank all my friends for their prayers and kind words. They are appreciated more than you can possibly know!

Once upon a time my favorite Internet game!!(LOL).

But this is a different Jack. This is about Jackson Baldwin, my boss, my NASCAR buddy, and my best friend. Those few of you that put up with my idiot scribblings might have noticed I bitch a bit about work, going in early, filling in, covering for Jack, etc.

No more.

He told me a week ago he has bone cancer in his right lower jaw and surgery to remove the tumor is scheduled for April 22nd.

They may be able to graft bone from his tibia to replace the part of his jaw they have to remove, but it may not matter. That tumor is dangerously close to the brain.

He went to UK Medical Center last Monday to have all his lower teeth extracted and back again yesterday for a full battery of tests, MRI, bone scans, etc.

Been on the job with this guy for twenty years and have always said "if anything ever happens to Jack, I'll probably move on, find something else to do"

Looks like life may be calling my bluff

Maybe a cyber grill-off is in order??

Another Saturday night and here I sit,goofin' around on Xanga!!!

What has become of me????

I've noticed this girl now

three days in a row,

she parks in the lot nearby

and puts on quite a show!

She is very lovely

and dressed to impress,

walking while at lunch,

secretary,I'd guess?

She seems oblivious

to the presence of me

or just doesn't care

that someone might see.

On opening her door

she turns in her seat

hikes up her skirt

and lifts up her feet.

As she removes her heels

to don comfy shoes

the need to look away

I quickly lose!

As I gaze upon

her warm inner thighs,

hungers and

age old passions arise!

Then she looks straight at me

as I sit in full view

I nod ,she smiles,

if I speak,will she too?

She closes the door

and walks slowly away

I'm tempted to follow,

make contact in some way.

But by thoughts of home

I am soon overcome

and I manage to avoid

being forever undone!

But now I wonder

what the morrow may bring,

as I ponder,

and turn my wedding ring!

Pretty nice day here today, 60+, sunny, no wind! Thought it might be a good day to burn a little meat on the grill. Stopped by Millers Custom Meats and picked up two 2" thick 20 oz. Porterhouse steaks. Now,I am somewhat of a purist and a minimalist when it comes to seasonings when I'm working on the grill, but people always ask "what do you season these with?"! Actually it's a lite rub with a clove of garlic(uncrushed), a hint of Lee&Perrin's, salt and pepper. The true flavorings are provided by the flame and the Art of The Grillmeister "Mr.Bud"!! As seen here!

Now THIS is medium rare perfection!

These two and six ice cold bottles of Coors Light-"That's" what's for Dinner.
