Doors Around the Tri-State
Shot a few pictures today around our little river town of Russell,Ky and her sister city Ironton,Oh(where I was born). Mostly antique stores and a few of the area churches.
Going to try and contact the owners of The President's House (formerly known as the Levi Hampton Bed and Breakfast)to see if they will allow me to take a few pictures. It is said to be the oldest house in Catlettsburg,Ky and is supposed to have some very unique doors.

Intriguing snapshots.
I like the TWINS (5th up from the bottom) they are gorgeous doors. I like the stained glass one above it too. Beautiful doors in your area.
@SaadiaOnline - I think I will!! You have one yourself Dear!!
Hey, Bud--have a terrific Tuesday!
@Danth - Thanks Dan!
Great pictures, Bud... Ang will love them.
dan
@craftea - Those two are on an old empty church that's currently up for sale. Glad you liked 'em.
came over to see the doors from Angi's site thanks-I like antique malls too
I really liked the brown doors with the stained glass tops. But I enjoyed looking at them all -- I'm over from Angi's site.
I have seen those doors so many times, but until you capture them in a picture, you don't appreciate their beauty.
@lostinatrance - Walking into Russell, gives you the feeling of a time warp. It's so cozy, peaceful, and pleasant. Perfect to raise a family.
RYC: no banjos but shotguns and other scary stuff when we were lost
@martysrose - Hello Angi's mom!! Russell is app. 140 miles east of I75 off of I64,be quite a bit out of your way. It's a sleepy little river town,but also home to the largest independently owned railyard in the country(CSX).Thanks!!
Oh my goodness those are some awesome door's and I love to Antique shop so I am very much interested in how far off 75 you are in Ky. Going to Fla next week to pick my parents up and bring them back to Michigan would love to make your town's a stop to do some shopping. I am Angi1972 mom...came from her site...Take care Marty..
@Saadias_World - It's a nice little town,but has problems. A lot of small businesses have closed lately,but that's not just a problem here,it's everywhere. Hope you managed get rested up over the weekend?
they say that the eyes must be the window to the soul
it seems to me that the heart must be the door
I love the look of your town, Bud!
@MaartenVenter - Thanks Marteen,nice of you to stop by.
Nice doors, Bud. I bounced off Angi's site. The twin doors is my favorite.
@buddly47 -
@lostinatrance - Most of the older buildings in this area were put up in the 1800's. My old house is over 100 years old.
@Celestial_Rose2002 - Actually,more Angi's hobby than mine, but I did enjoy looking at my little town with a different eye.
@angi1972 - Thanks Angi.
@BianchiStreet - How very lovely! Thank you,Sandra.
I'm going to try to be more mindful of doors from now on... I live near some pretty old cities and towns, hopefully I can find something good to post.
I'm over from Angi's to see your doors. They're very nice...I like the green one best.
I have always enjoyed driving through that area, very picturesque.
whoa. that gives off such an old feeling that you're stuck in a time warp somewhere.. more like somewhen. nice pictures!
Door to Door
Find your way blind;
Until the dust settles
Let it fall all around you,
Let it fall far from grace.
Carry on determined, or turn away
In fear, I'll be here when you
Reach the journey's end,
Come full circle, footprints following the
Long way home; see how the dust settles,
Even now.
Great doors!
Sandra
very loooovely doors
Pretty! You've got a unique hobby.
Great doors! Bud I am off to link!
