What's for Dinner??
Pretty nice day here today, 60+, sunny, no wind! Thought it might be a good day to burn a little meat on the grill. Stopped by Millers Custom Meats and picked up two 2" thick 20 oz. Porterhouse steaks. Now,I am somewhat of a purist and a minimalist when it comes to seasonings when I'm working on the grill, but people always ask "what do you season these with?"! Actually it's a lite rub with a clove of garlic(uncrushed), a hint of Lee&Perrin's, salt and pepper. The true flavorings are provided by the flame and the Art of The Grillmeister "Mr.Bud"!! As seen here!
Now THIS is medium rare perfection!
These two and six ice cold bottles of Coors Light-"That's" what's for Dinner.
Am I not the Most Awesomest Husband or What???

Yummy!
They look perfect!
I usually buy Porter House or Delmonicos. I prefer grilled vegetables myself
@buddly47 - What positivity! Thanks for the perspective!
@temptation__eyes - At least your dogs are doing well!!
ryc: I have so much shit on my plate, it's spilling over onto the floor for the dogs to eat.
Those steaks look deeeeeelicious. I'm so excited that the weather is getting nicer. Cooking out is so much fun!
mmmmm *drooling*
Steaks look great! My venison is awaiting my return to North Dakota to be reunited. Then it will be a grill fest every night! Thanks for the comment on the song today.
If I had the oppurtunity to buy that B&B I would!! It would be alot of work, but you wouldnt have to do anything else if you had enough people stay there.
That B&B is the 4th oldest house in Catlettsburg, and its downright beautiful inside, there's doors that blend in with the walls, you cant even tell there is a room behind them. Its awesome. What I would give to own that place, I tell ya. Thats a dream job too. Closes I'll ever get is living beside of it. LOL!
I wish you would have bought it!
@SunshineCountry - Well,ya didn't say it was homemade, just leftover,Darlin'!!! Never had any luck reheating delivery or frozen in the m'wave,by the time I think it's warm enough to eat it's a tasteless chunk of gooey rubber!! Homemade-whole different thing!! Thanks for settin' me straight.lol The Sears family reunions used to be held in Ypsi and Bellview and an old friend from the Air Force lived in G.R. Had many a good time and lots of fond memories of Michigan.
Those steaks look awsome. So you are familiar with Michigan. We moved to MI in about 1982 when I was a teenager and lived in Rosebush which is between Mt Pleasant and Clare for about 11-12 years. About that comment on the pizza, it's too bad you've never tried my homemade pizza. It really is good warmed up in the mic.
MMMmmm! That sounds delicious!! I wish I woulda been there for dinner! lol
So, you seen my house, we cleaned up the outside alot today, I started painting the white trim, and I planted some flowers. Its going to look really nice when we're done.
Yeah, i got a "True" badge, it's about damn time too, I've had my xanga for 6 years!
@buddly47 - understandable as so. i would feel no different.
medium rare, surprisingly my own preference.
@phalsius - Sometimes I "might" slip in a little Montreal steak seasoning in honor of my Canadian friends-but ask for steak sauce????-that's grounds for dismissal from my table!!!! V?
@ilsurvive - Happy Sunday morning Jamie. Hope yours is better than mine, cause I'm back at WORK again!! Starting to look like work and Xanga is the only life I got!!!
Garlic is a good must. I, myself, also prefer Cavender's greek seasoning (a family tradition). Being minimalistic but wise about your seasoning always works out best I believe, so there is just the right volume of taste, and also so that your cooking isn't insulted by the idea that it so much needs the season in order for it to taste good.
Yum! Those look delicious; I like medium rare! And I like coors lights!
Happy Sunday!
@angi1972 - You are a Michiganner and I am a Kentuckian-we will have to find a neutral ground!! lol. Actually,Karen's family is from Ypsilanti and we used to spend a quite a bit of time in Grand Rapids with my old friend David Fosner(RIP). Gotta work in the morning, so I'm heading to bed,Big Hugs to ya Girl!!
I look forward to it! I will look forward more to the eating of it! lol
@angi1972 - Ahh-a challenge!! Eye to eye and toe to toe we will face off!! Take warning now,Bobby Flay got nothin' on me!! But, if you're doin' marinated tenderloin, I'm bringin' my Tour de Force -1 1/2 inch thick boneless Rib Eyes, or what you Nawtheners refer to as Delmonico's?? I take on all comers!!!! lol
OH my that looks yummy! Rare for mine please!
I am big fan of beef tenderloin... we can have a grill off some day... my marinated tender loin and your porterhouses! lol
