  • The third pic,the reflection is really good.

  • @flatpick46 - If you've traveled from Ky to Ohio on US23 you have seen it.

  • I like the pictures, and I'm sure I've seen some of that landscape before.

  • @ME_ondisplay - Hmmmm...not really into camping, I'm more the king size bed,50" plasma, and fridge full of beer kinda guy! Sorry?

  • @SaadiaOnline - Just looked at a map to refresh my memory-I'm thinking I crossed the Mississippi once near Quincy on my way back to Omaha. But that was a long time ago,40 years or so, and I was probably a little high!hehehe. Sorry about your restaurant, that sucks. I'm lucky, the O'Charley's we frequent is on a hill called Melody Mt. so it's always available!

  • Very cool, Bud.  I live near the Mississippi and it's really high right now.  One of my favorite restaurant's parking lot is completely under water!

  • @ME_ondisplay - I'm in Ky.5 hrs max.Do you look at the pictures I post? No urban sprawl,no trash, really quite amazing these days

  • Awesome.  Do you know of any really cool camping places around you.  I am looking for new ones to visit this summer but I had a mis-adventure at a kind of scary campground last year so now I am trying to be careful.

  • Not only doing what makes me happy, but doing what I need to do.  I am an earth sign and sometimes I forget how closely tied to the earth I really am.  I live in the city and it is hard for me to connect to earth in a place with broken needles and trash on every street corner.  BTW we must live semi close to each other.  I am in PA.

  • That reminds me of the Arkansas river running through eastern Oklahoma.

  • @ilsurvive - Oh yeah, people swim in it all the time! There's a lot of pleasure boat activity in the summertime and theres always people in the water-it is pretty clean.

  • @buddly47 -   I AM jealous!  It does look so peaceful and beautiful!  Can people swim in the river?

  • @ilsurvive - Same river! Walked over on the riverbank and  took those pictures. The post below was an update on a post I put up on 4-5-08 when there were logs all over the backyard that the spring high waters had left. I have most of them cleaned up now. And you're right, it's a very beautiful and peaceful area to live in. You should be jealous!! You should come down for a visit sometime, you would love it!!

  • And this is the river that I can see in the backyard pictures in your post below?   How BEAUTIFUL!  I wish I lived directly on a body of water!

What is driftwood.  I mean; of course I know what driftwood is, but I am wondering if it is something different by you...because I can't see anything that I here call driftwood in your post about it below.  Is driftwood any wood that washes ashore...big pilings and such, even?  Here we refer to driftwood only as really pretty weathered and decorative pieces of wood washed in by the ocean....so I am curious!

I've said it before, but it needs saying it again.....everything is soooooo green and pretty by you already.  I am soooo jealous!

  • @lostinatrance - I spend a lot of evenings kicked back on the deck with a few cold ones, watching that old river flow. My little piece of heaven on earth!

  • Sky is 10 months and more than a handful..she's downright rotten. lol. Yeah, its been awhile since we've run into each other, I hardly get out of the house. We only have one car right now, and its a truck so for us all to load up its a BIG hassle.
I havent seen that guy out in a couple of days now, but they've been having ALOT of guest over there recently. They stay pretty damn busy. I expected it to be a fairly private place to live since it's on a dead end, but really there's alot of traffic.

  • Looking at these photos make me wish I was already done with school for the year. I wouldn't mind sitting by the bridge for the whole summer, watching the time go by. Too bad life isn't that simple.

    Great place!

  • @Still_groovy - Yes it is Kathi, most of the time.lol. We love our little town and the old river, don't really know of any other place I'd rather live,'cept maybe Carolina Beach??And you're more than welcome.

  • Oh, that is a beautiful river!  Sorry I mistook the small piece I saw in your post, for a lake!    Thanks for posting these pics for me!
