  • @SaadiaOnline - Awww....I thought you already were? hehe

  • Wow, you grill, mow your own lawn and take fabulous pictures!!!  Can I be your #1 fan?

  • @buddly47 - Yes, I quite agree. There is something magical about running water, and old houses built near them . . . S

  • @BianchiStreet - Your house was built about the same time as ours, and it too has weathered many a flood, including 1937! We love the old river tho,MOST of the time!!lol

  • Wow! My house is built over a relatively large stream (I call it a river). Built in 1890, it has managed to survive many a Vermont flood. The water jumped it's banks upstream several houses from me last July, came in a wave over my back patio, hit the divet in my back yard and followed it back into the river. It was the first time I have been afraid in this house. The water was high enough to knock a hole in the foundation and come into the basement . . . it stopped raining just in time for us, but a mile or so down street three houses were swallowed and all the surrounding roads were washed out . . . still . . I wouldn't want the Ohio River lapping at my door - EVER, thanks just the same . . .must be lovely, though, when the sun is shining . . .S

  • @Still_groovy - Hi Kathi, Thank you!! Well, I live in a little river town called Russell,Ky. Check my post "driftwood" on 4/5/08 for the neighbor story. And that little lake over there is the mighty Ohio River! It's been lapping at my backdoor many times in the past!lol. Thanks again for stopping by!

  • Your lawn and area around you look beautiful!  Where do you live?  I'm curious as to how you get stuck with cutting the neighbors' lawns?  That doesn't seem right!    It would be so neat to have a lake to look out on.

    Kathi
