Cleaning up the flood debris
The waters had pretty much returned to normal pool by Thursday evening last week, leaving behind quite a mess.
That was something that I, at 63, did not want to tackle on my own! Some of those water soaked logs could weigh as much as three or four hundred pounds
Fortunately, when I left the house Friday morning, there was an ad taped to the front door from Sanders Lawn Care saying that they did yard cleanups. Gave them a call and Mr. Sanders came over and gave me an estimate.
They would clean all that up, all four yards, for $125.00
Woohoo!
I would have gladly paid that on my own, much cheaper than the expenses incurred from the heart attack lifting those logs may have given me, but called my neighbor Tootie just to see if she would split it with me.
She jumped at the chance! Said she had had no idea how she was going to clean that up. She dropped by Sunday, gave me her half, and $35.00 for gas for the John Deere this summer.
Win, win all around! lol
Monday around five o'clock the lawn crew showed up. Read dad, mom, and teen aged son here. Dad said it was the son's business, he just helped him out. I was impressed! A teenaged boy that wants to work, and work hard, for his money is a rare creature indeed!
By eight that evening they had my yard and both the neighbors on each side of me done and were starting on Tootie's.
They came back yesterday evening and finished up.
Looks like I'm ready to mow again! Probably this weekend, if it doesn't rain.
It's still early spring but hopefully the water won't come back up again this year, but if it does, I know who I'm callin'!
And, it ain't GhostBusters!
And, yeah, I know it's a boring update.
But, that was my week.
Watched the water come up.
Then watched the water go down.
And had a beer or two while I waited. Didn't say it was all bad!

Yay for the help and the good job they did! And for the beers too! Lol!
@snikip296 - It would have been a bargain at twice that price, some of those logs were huge!
@fauquet - The driftwood went back into the river. The barrel and plastic bottles and jugs they hauled off. How's that cold doing, Michel?
I have to agree too - that was a $125 well spent. Anything is worth 125.00 if it means I dont have to do it myself LOL
@freakygirlwannabee - Exactly!
@Ricardo98 - That's good advice!
@the_rocking_of_socks - @Starlight_Angel_79 - @tymedancer - @srheam - @Babyboomerjill - It was a great deal! Hopefully this is the only time I'll need to call them this year. If the Lord's willing and the creeks don't rise!
@WildWomanOfTheWest - If I have to call them again maybe I'll fix something up for them. They sure did earn it!
they did a great job......and cheaply too!!! WAY cheap, if you ask me. The BEST part?....probably the beer.
havagreatweekend
And afterwards where do they throw the debris ? They made a good job . The photos show well how big was the flood and how clean the gound has become again. ;

My significant other really experienced a extremely optimistic know-how getting just one this sort of herbal choice to UK Viagra , which I also observed because I am his sexual partner. He described his know-how using the dietary supplement as getting a heightened sensitivity in his penis.
Unfortunately, an professional claimed that most daidaihua diet plan dietary supplements that are getting marketed are fakes. It is essential for purchasers to possess some particulars on what it is, how it is developed and easy methods to know the products and options are authentic.
@buddly47 - Me too! You might think I'm kidding, but I've recently dubbed my neck and shoulders Snap, Crackle, and Pop.
There is nothing a teenaged boy feels better about than helping his grandpa. That's been my observation, anyway.
Looks like they did a great job! Glad you found some good people to help you with this!
$125 is cheap and they did a great job.
What are the salient features of luxury watch discount ? Apparently, not quite smart to make you buy something you can not afford. The more precise and correct the time, more activities I can do and the more time I would save and spend on more useful things and concerns.
Just sit here on this bank of sand and watch the river flow.
Looks great! Definitely keep that number handy, never know when you'll need it again.
When you mentioned the price, I was doubtful they would do a satisfactory job. But when you showed the after shots, I was quite surprised! Job well done~ they deserve a bonus. Maybe one of your famous burgers and sweet potato fries!
all 4 yards? what a deal
I'm sorry for your flooding.
@buddly47 - Yeah, my son's toys are in my neighbor's yard, currently... Once I get a chance to go out, I'll bring them back... I should charge him money for making his yard pretty again, it seems like quite a lucrative career right now! lol
Wow, I do believe you got yourself a deal!! They did a wonderful job.
@ihaveawhistle - Haha, I've thought about that, David. Did you guys get the intense winds we did here this evening? Felt like 70 to75 mph gusts! Scary.
@distractedbyzombies - Would have been a bargain at twice that price, Mark. I'ma getting to old for that kinda work!
