It's Back!
My least favorite time of year. In spite of the fact that my birthday and Christmas are rapidly approaching. Or maybe because of them. Not getting any younger, ya know.
Had three inches of dry powder this morning and it's still snowing. Thankfully, the 25 to 30 mph winds are blowing it all around so it's not real deep. Yet.
Wind chill is about 5 degrees. BRRRRR!!!!!!
Actual temp is supposed to be 6 Wednesday morning. Can't wait!
You can see a little asphalt and concrete here and there, so we didn't have to put chains on the yard truck to get around. Slowly.
Trailers are so much fun to move around and work on in this kinda stuff!
Probably should update a little. It's been awhile!
Thanksgiving came and went.
And, it was good.
We did get the tree up last week.
Ok, actually Karen did it while I was at work.
I think she did a great job!
She also got her Nutcrackers set out. Says she has 42 but wants an even 100. Oy, that's a lot of Nutcrackers!
Also on the not-so-brightside, gas is over three dollars a gallon again.
Here's a little something I wrote when it got so high the last time.
Winter's sneaking in on frostbitten feet
Not looking forward to turning on heat
Surely it seems my gas bill's outrageous
And on every front, price gouging's contagious
Starting to hate these either/or choices
Nagging at me in mean little voices
Why do these needs have to compete
Stay warm......buy beer...... pump gas......or eat?

I cannot imagine living where it gets so cold. Here in Florida, it's a challenge to stand in front of the fridge with the door open, deciding if we want a pina colada or a margarita.
So are y'all going to get a white one?
food looks delicious, tree looks pretty,. snow looks...cold.
I enjoyed seeing your pictures. Hmm, shrimp cocktail, that's a new one to me for Thanksgiving. I've never seen a turkey carved like that, that's amazing. I did not participate in the decoration of our tree either, but it's pretty. You can see it in the reflection of my VLOG. And also when she's laughing, haw haw. Wow, that's a lota nutcrackers!
@jamekablue - Haha, thank yew!
Merry happy drink-to-that, H.
@windupherskirt - Thinking about renaming it "Dam Ice Lane"!
@UknowWutsux - Thanks!
@ItsWhatEyeKnow - I know I'm late, but thank you!
it's kinda funny with all the snow and "Ice Dam Lane" on the sign!!
ha, I absolutely love those words that you've ended with, quite nice.
And I love snow. (when I have no where to go!) have a great birthday.
@distractedbyzombies - Haha, it went rather quietly by, just the way I like it. Thanks, Mark!
Hey! You slipped it past me after all. Happy birthday, Bud! And merry christmas, too!
Wow that turkey looks good. And the snow and the trucks look surreal. Great Americana if you ask me. Perhaps you should print those pictures on nice paper and frame them.
Well, we all get older and none of use are getting any younger. It is just the flow of things.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Awesome post!
Happy birthday (Dec 19) Harold. Today is my moms bday too.
I like the picture with people lined in a row at the bottom of the room looking at the table loaded with delights. They ar e both solemn and ready to jump on!!

In friendship
Michel
ps : the other pictures too;
Love the tree!
We've had quite a bit of snow too, which is unusual for us as our winters are normally pretty mild. In spite of the cold weather, at least your turkey day went well and your Christmas may turn out even better. We all have to think positive, don't we?
@sweet_sinceritee - Thank yew, Tee!
Kudos to Karen; it is lovely!
Great pictures! I wish we could get snow, even just an inch of that! Merry Christmas to you!
@buddly47 - Nothing does beat it.
@grannyinboxers - Yep, the road outside is solid ice today!
Thanks Ruth!
I am getting older by the moment:):)
Love the snow. It looks dry but bet it will get slick as the temp. drops. Stay warm and safe.
Thanksgiving looks yummy, and beautiful tree.
@Babyboomerjill - I'll be 63 this Sunday, Jilly!

@RoverMoon - Well, thank you. And thanks for the sub.
@TheSutraDude - Haha! That's a fact, altho the SIL loves them. I worry about her, sometimes!
Hi
Nice poem and lovely pictures.
@buddly47 - Their NFL team doesn't stoke a desire to move their either. lol
@laurakim77 - @adventist_pathfinder - Thanks!
@TheSutraDude - There has to be an upside to living there, but I just can't see it. Nothing could make up for those winter storms!
@BurningTheSunrise - No snow? Lucky you! Thanks!
What a lovely tree!
and that Thanksgiving feast looks BOSS.
This is cool...
wow cool pics and so chilllll
@buddly47 - In the 90s I lived in a 2 bed/2 bath apt in Manhattan. The rent was $2300/month. A friend of a friend moved to Buffalo for a job. He found a 3 bedroom, full kitchen, large living room, dining room and foyer apartment with a swimming pool in the complex. The rent was $260/month. That could be the silver lining in all those snow clouds.
Im so glad i live in the uk, we hardly get any snow and its great xD love the poem!
