Touchless Carwash?
Ran my truck through the new "touchless carwash" here in town today for the first time.
Hmmmm. Maybe the last time, too.
Methinks, if you're going to wash a black truck, you're pretty much going to have to 'touch it'!
I'll take it out back in the shade and dampen a couple of towels and wipe that grey haze off of it.
I even cleaned the interior earlier today. First time in about two years, I'm thinkin'!
Ehhh, she's not too shabby(if you ignore that little wear spot on the seat) for a truck that will be ten years old in a couple of months!
Maybe, I can convince Johnny that waxing my truck is part of his job description?
It's worth a try!

@buddly47 - 28 Jimmy Johnson.
@sweet_sinceritee - Yup. Makes perfect sense. Wish I had a little something like that myself. You ain't spoiled sweet tee, just human. And sometimes, that ain't so easy.
@buddly47 - I am....but my OCD is beginning to kick in just a little, lol. The carpet bugs me...and the fridge. I need to think of it as my little piece of heaven, my piece of peace of mind and not expect it to be like my house which...we got brand new four years ago...with all new everything. I have to change my mentality and think of it as a place of healing and restoration and peace, not perfection. Make sense?
....spoiled tee.
@sweet_sinceritee - I like the sound of your new place. I think that's gonna work out well for you. You excited about it?
@lostinatrance - I think I mentioned this when we first met. That's a lot of work. Come on over and give me a hand, the beers are on me!LOL
Nice to see you around again,Jones!
@buddly47 - Awwwww, come on, Bud! You are close enough to the Mississippi that you could take a few lessons from Tom Sawyer and convince him that it is fun!!!
heeheehee!
He'll be begging you to let him wash it!
@sweet_sinceritee - Somehow, I just don't think he'll see it that way, tee!LOL
@Jillycarmel - Dale Earnhardt. Remember him?
noticed your mat who is #3? it's not Jimmy Johnson
it looks good to me-what haze? what if you were in southern Ca. not that would be a mess-sout from the fire.
cripes...if i washed mine, the fenders would fall off...it has never been washed except by rain...
Take a clay bar to your paint after you wash it, removes all the dirt that the soap didn't pick up. After that, get a nice spray or jar of carnauba wax and work that into the paint. It'll fill in any of the holes. Wax small portions at a time and the black shine will POP.
But I'm sure you already knew all this. That reminds me, I gotta wash my car soon.
Heck. Johnny should be so lucky! ha!
She looks good! I drive an almost 12 year old car and I can't see myself getting a new one any time soon.
@buddly47 - Yep, that's the time! So you can be safe! We've lived where we got so much rain and snow in winter, no one cleaned their cars until Spring. It was actually a funny site...all the mud covered cars and trucks
.
@carolinaatnight - It was damp and cool this morning and on the way to work I realized I couldn't see out of my windows! Time to clean it up!LOL
@AlterEgo909 - It looked a lot better after I wiped it down with a chamois!
@Neeka1 - @windupherskirt - Thanks! I do love my truck! Need to start taking better care of it!
I think she's beautiful!! What's her name?!? Now that you said this....I need to go clean the interior of my car. It hasn't been 2 years....but it's been too long.
Happy Drivin'!!!
lookin' good ... touchless or not ...
lol, yea I think a "hands on" approach will always be better, but she looks nice!
Ooooooooooooooooo ~ gorgeous truck!!!!
@buddly47 - Yup, whether it needs it or not! But it's just a rinse, so the grime still builds up, especially on a white truck.
@Irish_Russian - You live in Florida, God rinses your truck off every morning, doesn't he?
It's been a couple years since I gave mine an honest to goodness bath too. But then, it is a truck, it doesn't need to be pretty.
@Still_groovy - Since I haven't washed it in a long, long time, it's probably road film. It'll look better after I run some towels over her!
@MomGoneMadd - I'd say right now, where you live, all cars are grey aren't they? How far away are the fires?
@Bricker59 - Thanks man! She's been a good ride. Think I'll keep her a while longer!
I wonder if that "gray haze" is spray wax residue? I've had that happen, and it drives me nuts! Now your ride really looks pimped!
Kathi
Black cars are sexy but damn it they are a pain to keep clean... I probably wont ever buy a black car again, but I DO love mine.
Looks good to me Bud!
