Imagine Live - John Lennon - 72
It absolutely does not seem possible that it has been twenty eight years.
Imagine, indeed!

My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.
*
You have to be a bastard to make it, and that's a fact. And the Beatles are the biggest bastards on earth.
*The more I see the less I know for sure.
*
I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.

I was 18.I remember I was sitting at the sewing machine making my niece a cute little dress when the news came on the radio. I cried for a day.

@TheBigShowAtUD - Hopefully, the next 364 will be just as good!
That was nice, thanks!!
And thanks for stopping by too! Have a great Friday
ryc: thank you, sir. it's been a great year, so far... for one day. haha.
@In_My_Own_Little_Corner - Sorry. Maybe you need to hit him harder,LOL!!
Per your suggestions yesterday, already thought of that and hit hubby up, but he thought I was joking. Next time I will get the money up front. LOL
Wow...granted, I wasn't even born, but it doesn't seem like that long ago. Sheesh, I feel semi-young now, thank you!
I really liked the music of Lennon, up until about 1969.Everything after that was flavored by his political agenda. Once folks start bringing their politics into their music, that's when they lose me. I was 19 whe he was killed. It does seem like yesterday in some ways.
@stixandstonz - Hard to believe isn't it. Time flies.
has it really been that long? Wow! What a terrable loss.
@buddly47 - like way back in the early 70's? my girlfriend married a Texan so now she''s been here for the last 40yrs. She eats rice for breakfast and I said,"what are you doing?" and she said,"remember I'm Thai?" I said,"oh,I keep forgetting." lol
@fivepts - Yeah, I know Keith. Gettin' old, ain't we?
Man!...**sighs**
@SamsPeeps - Damn, sprized your still awake! Cold beer works for me,too!
@buddly47 - ahhh... I could go for about 12 cups right now. Draggin'! Not used to having only one cup a day. Thankfully, there's plenty of ice cld beer in the fridge... that'll keep me happy for this evening at least...
@SamsPeeps - I couldn't live without my Bunn. 12 cups in 2 minutes!
@buddly47 - Alas, no. I mean I went to Dunkin Donuts this morning for my fix... but I need a new machine!
@buddly47 - Thanks Bud. good thing, cause there wasn't much of a choice =0p
@SamsPeeps - Did you get that coffeemaker problem solved?
@jillcarmel - You have a girlfriend from Thailand? I did too, while I was in country, but that was a long time ago.
@MooncatBlue - Nah, I think you were born at the perfect time for you, Leah.
@doahsdeer - Don't know about you, but I would just as soon not realized it's been that long!
28 years later, I still get misty when I think of him.
well, I was only two. but my tastes have always indicated I was born a little too late. Good post Bud : )
@buddly47 - my girlfriend is from Thailand and once on a ski trip I couldn't find her and asked some young kids-do you know Yoko Ono?(she looks like her in her shades and all bundled up) they said ,"your girlfriend was married to a Beatle?" I thought that was pretty good for 12yr old boys.
@angi1972 - @MrsHammett - @adventofreason - @jillcarmel - @menskeet - I was eleven days away from turning thirty-three, but sat on the couch and cried. I was a fan, still am.
i remember it ... i wasn't a lennon fan but mourned the loss just the same ...
wasn't there a ball game on ? I remember they interuppted the ball game and said,"John Lennon has been shot" and we all gasped.
Twenty-eight years ago? Really? Thanks for the reminder.
I do indeed remember. I was 18. Guess that puts me somewhere in the middle o' the pack.
orly? man, you guys make me feel like a baby haha
no offense, though ^___________^
I remember that day and I was little... eight...
@Bricker59 - Yeah I know. It shocked me when I realized that, Brick!!
Yoko was right there...why didn't he shoot her instead?
