Saturday Cartoons
It's been 12 years now (almost 13) since the last new Calvin and Hobbes strip was published.
I miss 'em, too!
The 3,160th and final strip ran on Sunday, December 31, 1995. It depicted Calvin and Hobbes outside in freshly-fallen snow, reveling in the wonder and excitement of the winter scene. “It’s a magical world, Hobbes, ol’ buddy… Let’s go exploring!” Calvin exclaims as they zoom off on their sled, leaving, according to one critic ten years later, “a hole in the comics page that no strip has been able to fill.”

Calvin and Hobbes is new to me. Well it didn't spread that far but I can clearly see I missed something...
@Danth - And sadly missed, dan.
Calvin and Hobbes was the best!
@Still_groovy - Forget my favorite Chief's fan? No way, Kathi! The comic strips name is actually "Red and Rover" by Brian Bassett, I think.
I think you has forgot me. There, did that bad grammar get your attention? Whew, it got mine!
I can't believe it's been that long since the last Calvin and Hobbes was published. One of my sons used to really like it, and I did, too. I like the other strip that has a little boy and his dog. Their names are Red and Rover, but I can't think of the cartoon name!
Kathi

Thanks for the memories.
@buddly47 - I know the novel "My Friend Flicka", but as for the rest, no, I really don't. Wet behind the ears, or just plain ignorant. I obviously missed out on some good ones. Sigh.
@Bricker59 - Correct on all points!
@angi1972 - That would be fun!
The world is a sadder place without Calvin and Hobbes. I miss the Far Side too.
My God, has it really been ten years??
Beer time.
@adventofreason - You don't remember "My Friend Flicka", "Fury," "Rin Tin Tin," and "Sky King"? You must still be wet behind the ears!
@menskeet - @buddly47 - Boy, you guys is old! Hahaha. Okay, so I don't really remember those, but I do miss Calvin and Hobbes and Bloom County. Those two were my favorites, just behind The Far Side. Thanks for the smiles this morning, Bud.
