The Finished Pumpkin House-2008
Karen and I drove over to Kenova earlier this morning, while the normal people were at church to avoid the crowd, and got some pictures of the Pumpkin House.
Ric says they have had around 15,000 visitors so far, and expect another good turnout tonight and Monday!
They'll start taking it all down on Tuesday morning.
And do it all over again next year!

Mamasita! Thas' so cool!
Oh my word! That would take hours and hours and hours ..... to carve them and set them all up, and then they have to take it all down and get rid of em all.
Not only a fantastic display and a ton of work, but really great photographs too!!
That's so cool. I wish Halloween was as largely celebrated as it is in America over here in the U.K. Halloween is a great holiday and I don't think it's celebrated enough where I am, it sucks!
I can't believe all the work they put into this, it looks great,I love carving pumpkins,I like to do intricate designs.
@buddly47 - i meant the second to last picture, its just.....weird, lol
@MrsHammett - Nah! It's a lot of fun! The whole neighborhood gets into it! Plus they had about 20,000 visitors this year. Good for the local economy.
i don't know about the pumpkin people, that's kind of freaky!
@buddly47 - OK!
@curlytopchick1973 - Thanks,Baby! Does kind of boggle, don't it!
Great pictures Dad. It just amazes me the time frame this man gets everything done in.
@flatpick46 - Time to close ranks now, buddy. This country is in trouble, we all need to stand together. But let's keep our eyes on him, OK?
Hey dude. Looks like Obamy's the man. I'm joining the loyal resistance. This sucks, but I'm tryin' not to let it bother me.

It ' s sure this is amazing , however I wonder when they will stop their " progress" ?

In friendship

Incredible.
I personally would have taken a case of beer and spent 8 hours watching them, then taken pics at night too.
Just a thought for next year Bud,you might want to work on that.

my hubby said ,"someone has too much time on their hands and too much money."
@buddly47 - Oh, no, according to my pocket I have to stay home for a while. But I will be feeding on pictures from the West for a while to come...
Great photos and what fun!
WOW. I've seen some over-the-top Christmas decorations that draw big crowds, but never a pumpkin-fest like this! Very cool, glad Angi sent me over to check it out!
@Still_groovy - Don't know what they do with them. Giving them to a zoo is a good idea! I'll talk to Ric, see what he thinks!

I was wondering how those many shelves would look when they were full of pumpkins! The pumpkin people are so cool! Thanks for the pictures. Have you heard what they will do with all of the pumpkins? Some zoos will feed them to the animals.
