My Kentucky roots are showing
This song is from Dwight Yoakam's (hometown boy,in case you didn't know) latest CD, Blame the Vain.
Since I first heard it, it's always reminded me of when Karen and I first met 37 years ago.

I have this CD, I love Dwight Yoakam . It is a great song.
@SaadiaOnline - We attended our niece Sarah's wedding and reception yesterday. Had a wonderful time! I'll be grilling tonight,come by if you get a chance!!
@Ed_Kaz - I think I would have loved your Dad.
Hey, Bud, hope you and Karen are having a great weekend! We cooked out tonight...thought of you both!
I used to dislike country music, and then I took a job as a dishwasher and they played country in the kitchen all day. Little by little, scrubbing dishes and feeling the rythm of it, I came to love it. Great song.
@Ed_Kaz - With gas $4 a gallon,I'd like to BUY your Vespa!!
@buddly47 - Must have been a twangy pregnancy. Nope. No truck. My dad had trucks though. I guess I'm too modern and wimpy. Want a ride on my Vespa?
@angi1972 - Skinny and short!!haha
@Ed_Kaz - Local gossip is Ol' Buck and Dwights mommy had a little thing going back in Bucks hayday!!
And what?? You don't OWN a pickup truck??
Ahhh I love ol' Dwight. And I love Buck Owens. I think I'm gonna pull 'em both out this weekend and rent a pickup truck.
I see why!
That's a great song.
ahh Dwight... is he still mega skinny?
@SaadiaOnline - Who woulda thunk it!! Saadia groovin' on Dwight Yoakam!!
The little dude is pretty damn cool.
Hey, guess what I bought today? "Blame the Vain!!!" I love it! Have I told you lately how much I love that shirt you're wearing?
@flatpick46 - Oh yeah,there's a major reason for the big hat!!!haha
There's a song that reminds me of my almost ex-wife.
"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."
That is the second gordon Lightfoot reference I left on a xanga site today. Hmmm.............
I saw Dwight Yoakum without his hat once. Sheesh!!!! Scary. I see why he wears it now!
I do like his music though. He plays everything from bluegrass to rockabilly.
thanks, I needed that...S
I don't think my husband has ever heard a song and thought about us. I hope Karen appreciates you.
I partied with some KY's this weekend. They do party hearty.
Great song!
What a great song. I'm going to download it right now. I think the history you have with Karen is such an wonderful love story. Have you ever considered writing it all down? I can see your story being one that all couples would enjoy.
Hey, that's a great tune! But, remember, this here's an Okie girl-we love this stuff!
