First Time Since the Flood
You guys remember the flood waters I had in the back yard last month. Right?
And that I found a crew to clean it up for $125.00?
It all looked pretty good from the deck. Didn't look so good as I was mowing for the first time this spring!
Guess I can't really complain, they did clean up the debris that was in the actual yards.
And after first mow, they look pretty good.
But the creek and riverbanks are a whole different story!
Looks like they pushed or threw everything right to the edge, and stopped.
It's kinda iffy whether some of this is actually out of the yard or not, but I'll give them the benefit of a doubt.
I guess they just didn't see those two tires hiding there in plain sight.
This would be a good time for a brush fire. just sayin
Sorry about the quality of the pics. Took em with my phone.
If the water comes back up into the yard again this spring, all of that flotsam and jetsam will come right back with it!
Gonna have to start praying it only comes up to the top edge of the river bank and no higher.
And spending some time over the next couple of weekends tossing driftwood back into the river.
Couple of old sayings come to mind about now.
You get what you pay for, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. lol

next time, hire illegals. They do a better job.
@flatpick46 - You should take a spin on this new John Deere, you'd love it!
@ofunlo - Since April 15th we can burn in the daytime. Water's back up now tho so it's a moot point. Do over time!
ha. yes, I guess those things are true. are you allowed to burn anything in that area?
Viewing life from a riding lawnmower. Very cool!
I miss my old rider mower.
What a bummer. Too bad that they couldn't have cleaned everything up properly.
@gwennieg - Haha, it's not!
@looking_inside_me - I'm hoping it doesn't too, my friend!
@lupus_lady - Hahaha, sounds like a handy kid to have around!
"You get what you pay for, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." You said it yourself, but you forgot momma's If you want it done right you have ta do it yourself!
P.S. I know a ten year old who throw your driftwood in the water all day long - no charge...but he lives so durn far away! (His Pops made a pile of driveway rock for him to toss in the pond...if you don't he makes "holes" in the driveway! Lol.
Yea 125.00 was cheap. They did look looks they just threw all the stuff to the edge. Let do pray that it does not come back up since it will bring it all back into your yard.
Yikes. Doesn't look like fun.
@WakeUpLaughing - Yay for the beer time, anyhoo!
@Randy7777 - Yep, lots and lots of em!
@boilingicicle - @the_rocking_of_socks - @squiggs_02 - Starting to think half of all Xangans are pyromaniacs! lol
@jamekablue - Deal!
@murisopsis - I'm hoping the river rises just enough to float most of it away!
@heart_beep - Ya think so, huh? You sayin I got what I desevered for being a cheapskate? lol
@Jaynebug - @winniezpoo - Haha, and here I thought they had done a pretty good job, till I went down over the bank and looked around. Oh wells!
@maniacsicko - Haha, yeah, it is!
@ItsWhatEyeKnow - It's a damn shame when you're not allowed to clean up your own property! Should be a integral part of wetlands management.
Rut row. You've got your hands full. But really, it's a small fraction of the mess that was left on our lake property when a hurricane came through here. The cypress in the wet lands between the land and lake literally looked as if someone had picked them up in their ginormous hand, and let them go, like the game pick-up-sticks. The bad part is regulations forbid us from doing ANYTHING in the wet lands. You have to wait and let nature take it's course. the trees have to rot and fall into the water over time. A mess!
Good luck cleaning up your. Your yard looks great though!
